My Creative Space – First time crocheting!

I’ve always adore amugurumi (編みぐるみ), but never thought of trying as the idea of crochet just seems a bit daunting!
I got started over the Easter break and finished the body & the head so far – a bit worrying as the head looks nothing round to me!!><
The tail is work in progress… I still have the limbs & ears & mouth to go…
Thank you Minh from the curiouser who took the time to teach me, and also thanks to Kate from Foxs Lane for her yarn advice~
Although a bit slow and painful, I am quite proud of myself to be honest, never thought that I can crochet too!!^^
Let’s see how it works out!?

Once you stuff that little head it will be round!
Looking forward to seeing it all done.
I agree…the stuffing will make all the difference. Good on you for having a go.
yes, don’t worry at all, selective stuffing always works for me!
I see …you are adventuring into new things.. Good on you! It looks like MCS has heaps of talents who know how to craft by sewing and crafting more than drawing and designing…if that make any sense.. hrmmm….
Well, I’m looking forward to seeing the cute finished product in a week or two.
I just finished my first amugurumi recently, a teddy bear, and before stuffing his head looked just like the one you’ve finished. I was worried too (all that work and attention to instructions for a lumpy head?!) but all was well once he was stuffed!
Crochet, I have to say that I’m impressed. This is something I’d like to know how to do, but dread learning, so I keep putting it off. Not sure I’ll ever get around to it. Good thing I’m content with my sewing.
Thanks so much everyone!!! I just stuffed the head and it’s round!!!
Can’t be more proud!!
